Why Buy A Olympus Stylus 790SW Waterproof Digital Camera?

Why Buy A Olympus Stylus 790SW Waterproof Digital Camera?

Are you the kind of person that hangs out in a lot of cold, wet, and sandy places? Apparently the
good folks at Olympus think some of us do. So much so, that they'd like to convince you how much
you need to buy the Olympus Stylus 790SW Waterproof Digital Camera. My first reaction upon reading
about the waterproof, shockproof, freeze-proof (really?) and sand-proof features of the 790SW, was
hey that's a nice idea. My second reaction was what's so special about that, and shouldn't all
cameras be built like that to start with?

Shouldn't all cameras be able to take a little abuse? All digital cameras should be able to be
dropped from four or five feet without damage. All digital cameras should be sealed well enough
that sand or water won't find a way in. It's just a question of good build quality. Olympus
however thinks this is a big revelation and a major marketing point for the Stylus 790SW. The
bigger question though is, does it take good pictures?

Being a waterproof camera shouldn't just mean you can hold the camera underwater, and it won't leak.
It still needs to take good pictures. While the 790SW can be held underwater (up to 33 feet
according to Olympus), the pictures it takes are not so great. In fact, if you do take it
underwater, plan on taking a lot of pictures. Most will turn out quite distorted and blurry, but
the more pictures you take the better your chances of getting a few good ones. In addition, the LCD
is pretty much unusable underwater, as it's just too hard to see. You'll have to just point, click
and hope for the best.

Looking For The Best Olympus Digital Camera?

Looking For the Best Olympus Digital Camera?

I've been in love with photography for a long time now and I'm enjoying it just as much today. For some reason, I always left cameras to the wish list, instead of buying them, and this seems to happen for a lot of people.

What is great in my case is that my loving husband bought me an Olympus digital camera, which replaced the Kodak that I had before. The Kodak was good, but the Olympus is truly
great. You can easily use the Olympus FE 300 instead of a camera that is much more advanced. When you can't carry around a big SLR camera, you can use the Olympus to take
great photos.

The Size: this camera takes just half of the space occupied by most other compacts. You can put it in a purse or pocket easily. The LCD is another strong point and it occupies around 75% of the camera's backside. It can be easily carried during travels. I still own cameras that are more advanced and bigger, but the Olympus is my favorite and I carry it everywhere with me. I can easily put it in my purse and take it out fast whenever I see something interesting.

Level of skill: you don't need to read a manual to understand how to use the Olympus digital camera. This doesn't happen usually. Even my mother learned how to use it easily, when she has problems turning the laptop on. She's smart and she has several college degrees, but she hates technology. She can use the Olympus camera without any problems,
which makes it perfect for anyone that wants something easy to use. It works just as well for photographers that do this for a living, since the quality of the photos is pretty good.

Features: besides auto focus, the camera also has the ability to take candlelight photos, portraits, panoramic and night photos.

Even though most technology becomes a lot more advanced and difficult to use, the Olympus digital camera isn't in the same category. It has plenty of great features, like Blur/Shadow Adjustment Technology, Red Eye Reduction, Image Stabilization or On-screen Autofocus, plus many others. If you want a digital camera that packs a powerful punch in a
small package, you should take the Olympus FE 300 digital camera into consideration.

The Olympus FE 300 camera has 12 megapixels and for a price of less than $200. You can put it in any pocket and the quality of the photos is very good.

Getting the perfect camera, is never an easy thing, due to the constantly changing technology. Fortunately, there are plenty of helpful websites online, that can narrow down your search and help you find the camera with all the features important to you.

Canon Digital Camera Review

There are many different sorts of Canon digital cameras available on the market.  Canon has been manufacturing cameras for several years and its digital cameras are some of the best for the price.  The current digital cameras that Canon offers include the Canon EOS series and the Canon Powershot series.  The Canon 5D Mark II digital camera is the 1st EOS digital SLR camera to have both video capture and still capture.  This Canon 5D camera includes all of the latest upgrades as previous models were lacking in some particular critical areas compared to rival's products.

The camera now has a 21.2 megapixel sensor which is particularly fascinating for those that like to shot professional quality.  The resolution is the most recent at A900.  This camera can be considered a premium digital
camera.  The Canon Powershot is an example of the most well liked Canon digital camera available for your average
picture taker.  One of the latest Powershot models, as of March 2009, is the Canon Powershot A480.  The body was built
to be in a more normal camera style.  The sensor resolution has been increased to 10 mega pixels and the camera shoots
with a marginally wider angle then before.  There are also five more scene modes to selected from rather than ten.

As with lots of the Canon products is has face and motion detection and will adjust the settings to capture these subjects. The controls and present modes have been extended to you can have more suppleness using your own settings or shooting in tricky locations. It is possible to set the contrast, saturation, color adjustments, sharpness and  shutter time by hand. The Canon digital camera SD1100 IS was engineered to deal with the new image stabilization system so its edges are software and slightly thicker then the previous models. There's also an optical viewfinder, which is beginning to become less common in digital cameras.

It includes a built in optical image stabilization, 8 megapixel still mode, optical viewfinder, 2.5 inch LCD screen, face detection, 3x optical zoom, and 30 frames per second picture mode to name only a few features.   Face detection is really the latest feature for digital cameras and all of Canon's new models have face as well as motion detection.

You can mix multiple overlapping shots into one long photo.Canon's digital cameras are always offering the gambles features for price and there 2 ranges of EOS and Powershot provide camera options for your professional photographers as well as the more general picture taker. They continue to be a major player in the camera industry and as long as they focus on quality they will continue to do so.

If you are a photographer looking to buy digital cameras, you may already be overwhelmed by the plethora of lens types out there. What most people don't know is that there are different lenses that cater to different photographer styles. This means that one lens is not better than the other, but that it simple enhances a certain style of taking pictures. You may already know what kind of style you like to take pictures, and if not that OK because we have put together a quick and easy guide to digital camera lenses.

Folding optical lenses are the type of lenses that fold back into the digital camera's structure. These lenses are great to keep things very compact but don't let you use converters that go on top of the lenses to get a different look and feel to the picture.
Fixed Zoom Lenses don't retract, but they can magnify something by up to 18 times its original size. Business photographers use these types of lenses often. This type of lens is great for a serious amateur photographer.

Fixed Focal Lenses do not have an optical zoom feature, but they usually have a digital zoom feature. The best part about these lenses is they have easy settings and are great for taking wide angle shots as well as pictures of landscapes.

Retractable Zoom lenses are what you find in most of today's newer compact cameras. They retract into the cameras frame so that you can't damage the lens if you were to pack your camera around for travel. The settings and switches on this type of lens are very limited as well.

Interchangeable lenses are the grand daddy of them all. Any serious photographer will use these type of lenses as they save you money because you can buy different lenses and not different cameras to get a desired effect.

Understanding Digital Camera Zoom Lenses

Digital Camera Zoom Lenses

Do you ever feel like you know just enough about digital camera to be dangerous? Let's see if we can fill in some of the gaps with the latest info from digital camera experts.

There are three types of digital camera zooms, however the Optical Zoom is the only one that actually extends and retracts the lens mechanism. Digital and Extended Optical zooms have their place, but not without some compromises.

An optical zoom is a true zoom. As the focal length extends, an image is magnified by the lens itself. An optical zoom produces the best quality images at all resolutions available on a digital camera. Zoom lenses can magnify an image 3X, 20X, 20X and more. Very long zooms are particularly prone to camera shake. To help prevent this, a gowning number of digital cameras that zoom incorporate Image Stabilization.

If you base what you do on inaccurate information, you might be unpleasantly

surprised by the consequences. Make sure you get the whole digital camera story

from informed sources.

The extended optical zoom trims the operational area of the actual camera sensor to increase the maximum magnification. Unlike a digital zoom, an extended optical zoom produces images with little loss of quality. However, extended optical zooms may only work when a smaller image size is selected than the largest size (resolution) available on a digital camera. Not all digital cameras have extended optical zooms.

A digital zoom is not a true zoom. It is a simulated zoom that enlarges the central portion of an image. The actual length of the lens does not change. A digital zoom pre-crops the center area of an image. Resolution is reduced, giving the appearance of zooming in. It is similar cropping with photo editing software. Because of reduced image quality, use a digital zoom only if you have no other options. Most cameras have a setting to turn off the digital zoom. This prevents inadvertent zooming into digital mode.
