Choosing the Best Digital Camera Lens.

As you already know there are an abundance of digital cameras available in the marketplace today. As a result of the availability of many brand name digital cameras it is not surprising to find an abundance of different brands of lenses available to the public. What I would like to do is save you time and possibly money by providing you with a guide to help you with your digital camera lens choice.
Optical fold lenses

Fold optical lenses as the name implies,are designed to fold sideways into the body of the camera's body which makes them both compact and sleek. They are also well protected as a result of it's built-in covering. Unfortunately these type lenses although adaptable to compact devices they are not supported by converters.  In my opinion these type lenses produce a lower quality of optics and have a higher cost compared to the external lens.

Fixed zoom lenses

As the name implies fixed zoom lenses are not retractable and thus remain stationary even when the camera is turned off. However, these type of zoom lenses can produce a magnification of objects an average of 18 times. With these type of lenses you can attach a lens converter so that you can provide you with different shooting capabilities.

Fixed focal length lenses

These type of lenses are perfect for Snapshooters on a budget. One of the downsides is that they do not have optical zooms which increase magnification. One of the upsides is that they are very affordable. Add to it the quick and and easy operation and you can see why these type of lenses are desirable.  It is important to note that even though these lenses provide the lowest quality pictures, they are very good for shooting wide angle views such as group shots and landscapes.

Retractable zoom lenses
These type of lenses do not support converters they often are a popular choice of the budget buyer and snapshooters.  You often find these lenses on compact cameras. This lenses, however, are not suitable for individuals who prefer to manually set controls.

Interchangeable lenses

These types of lenses are only suitable for digital SLRS which have to ability to change lenses. Interchangeable lenses are recommendable to
serious amateurs (and of course professionals) who want to have flexibility in the type of picture they want to shoot. Cameras with
interchangeable lenses will ultimately allow you to save money due to the fact you will not have to buy new cameras if down the line you are interested in
different kinds of photography.

Unfortunately the ability to find the perfect camera lens is not an easy task due to the ever changing advances in digital photography. My advice is to research your possible choices on the internet which will be extremely helpful in finding the lens with all the important features that you are looking for.
